Breedly Privacy Policy
Effective 29 September 2026 · Sagar Singh (developer “Myx”)
At a glance
- Breedly is a network. Your owner profile and pet profiles can be seen by other users.
- Your exact location is used to calculate distance. Other users see only a locality and a rounded distance.
- Identity documents you upload for verification are stored privately and are never shown to other users.
- There are no ads, no third-party analytics and no sale of data.
1. Who is responsible
Breedly is an app that helps pet owners and breeders build pet profiles, find compatible pets and plan pairings. It is developed and published by Sagar Singh, an individual developer based in India, under the developer name “Myx”. Breedly is not published by a company.
In this policy, “I”, “me” and “my” mean Sagar Singh. I decide how the information described here is used and I am responsible for it. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 I am the “data fiduciary”, and under the GDPR I am the “data controller”. I am also the grievance contact for Breedly.
2. Information you provide
- Account: your email address and password, or your phone number if you sign in with an SMS code.
- Owner profile: display name, photo, bio, owner type (for example pet parent or breeder), kennel or cattery name and website.
- Pet profiles: name, species, breed, sex, date of birth, size, colour, photos and videos, temperament, breeding availability and preferences.
- Health and pedigree: vaccination records, screening and test results, certificates, pedigree and registration details and breeding history, including any documents you upload.
- Messages: chats with other owners, including attachments, breeding requests and litter records.
- Verification (optional): an identity document such as an Aadhaar card, or a kennel or breeder licence, used to verify your account.
- Reports and blocks: details you give when you report or block another user.
3. Location
If you allow location access, Breedly reads your device’s approximate location (medium accuracy) when you set a location for your profile or a pet. Your device converts the coordinates into a locality, city, state and country. You can type a place name instead of sharing device location.
Coordinates are stored so that distances can be calculated. Other users see only the locality and a rounded distance, never your exact position. Breedly does not track your location in the background.
4. Camera and photos
Breedly uses the camera or photo library only when you choose to add a photo, video or document, and only through the system picker.
5. Information created as you use Breedly
- Profile views: which pet profiles you viewed and how often, used for view counts shown to pet owners.
- Your last active time and email or phone verification status, shown as trust signals.
- Technical data that our hosting provider logs when the app connects, such as IP address and request times, used to keep the service secure.
6. What other users can see
Breedly is a discovery network, so some of your information is visible to other signed-in users:
- active pet profiles, including photos, health summary, pedigree, temperament and approximate location;
- your display name, photo, owner type, kennel name and verification badge;
- messages and attachments you send, which the recipient can see.
Photos, videos, health certificates and chat attachments are stored at hard-to-guess web addresses. Anyone who has the direct link to a file can open it, so only upload what you are comfortable sharing. Verification documents are the exception: they are kept in private storage and are not visible to other users.
7. How I use information
- to run your account, pet profiles, discovery, compatibility scores, requests and messaging;
- to calculate distances between pets;
- to verify owners and display trust badges;
- to prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and to act on reports;
- to comply with the law.
Compatibility scores and health indicators are for information only. They are not veterinary advice.
8. Service providers
- Supabase: hosting, database, file storage, authentication and SMS sign-in codes.
- Google: Google Play, which distributes the app. On Android, converting coordinates to a place name uses the device’s geocoding service.
- Apple: the App Store, which distributes the app. On iOS, converting coordinates to a place name uses the device’s geocoding service.
I do not sell personal information and do not share it with advertisers. I may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect users from harm.
9. How long data is kept and how to delete it
Your data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account in Profile → Delete account. When you do:
- your account, owner profile, chats and messages, and profile-view history are deleted;
- your pet profiles are deactivated and hidden from other users, and pending requests are withdrawn;
- litter records are kept because other owners’ pedigrees depend on them, and safety reports are kept to prevent abuse.
If you want your remaining pet records and uploaded files erased as well, contact me and I will remove them.
10. Your rights and choices
You can view and edit your owner and pet profiles in the app, remove photos and documents, block users and delete your account.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:
- access the personal data I hold about you and get a copy in a portable format;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- have your data erased;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- nominate someone to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to (India).
To make a request, contact me. I will reply within 30 days and may need to confirm that the data is yours first. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India or, in the EEA or UK, to your local data protection authority.
11. Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS). The database uses row-level security so that users can change only their own data, and verification documents are stored privately. No system is completely secure, but if a breach affects your data I will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires.
12. Children
Breedly is not intended for anyone under 18. I do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided information through Breedly, contact me and I will delete it.
13. Where your data is processed
I am based in India. The service providers named above may store or process data in other countries, including the United States and the European Union. Where data leaves the EEA or UK, the transfer relies on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses in the provider’s terms.
14. Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I will update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes I will also let you know in Breedly before they take effect.
15. Contact
For questions about this policy, data requests or complaints, contact me by email. I built the app, so I will answer your message myself.
